Texas health insurance policies must include the following:

  • guaranteed renewability provision
  • exclusion period for pre-existing conditions for no more than 2 years.

Texas health insurance companies can:

  • deny you health insurance on the basis of your health and age
  • charge you higher premiums on the basis of your health (although this is limited)

  • not cancel an existing health insurance policy due to illness.
