Vermont health insurance laws

Vermont health insurance policies are required to include the following:

  • a guaranteed renewability provision
  • a pre-existing conditions for less than 12 months
  • NO elimination riders

Under state regulations, Vermont health insurance companies can charge more because of your health, within limits.

They can not deny coverage because of health or age and must offer three standard insurance policies.

Finally, existing policies can not be canceled because of health reasons.
